What To Expect when you visit AHCC

We stand, we sing, we lift up our hands, we clap, we shout, we kneel. But Why?
Here are some passages that help explain what you can expect to see and hear when you come to AHCC and why we do what we do.

Q. Why do we stand when we sing?

And the Levites, of the sons of the Kohathites, and of the sons of the Korhites, rise to give praise to Jehovah, God of Israel, with a loud voice on high.              II Chronicles 20:19 (YLT)

Ye that stand in the house of the LORD, in the courts of the house of our God. Praise the LORD; for the LORD is good: sing praises unto his name; for it is pleasant.

Psalms 135:2-3 (KJV)

Q. Why do we clap our hands?

O, CLAP your hands, all you peoples! Shout to God with the voice of triumph and songs of joy!                                       Psalms 47:1 (Amplified)

Q.  Why do we lift our hands?

Lift up your hands to the sanctuary and bless the LORD.                                    Psalms 134:2 (ASB)

Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name.            Psalms 63:4 (KJV)

I want men everywhere to lift up holy hands in prayer, without anger or disputing.

I Timothy 2:8 (NIV)

Q.  Why do we bow down and kneel?

Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the LORD our Maker;

Psalms 95:6 (NIV)

 Q. Why do we audibly praise God?

Bless the LORD, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless His holy name.

Psalms 103:1 (NASB)

I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.

Psalms 34:1 (NASB)

MAKE A joyful noise to the Lord, all you lands!

Psalms 100:1 (Amplified)

Then I heard what seemed to be the voice of a great multitude, like the roar of many waters and like the sound of mighty peals of thunder, crying out, "Hallelujah! For the Lord our Godthe Almighty reigns."

Revelation 19:6 (ESV)

Q. Why do we sing in tounges and in English?

For if I pray in an [unknown] tongue, my spirit [by the Holy Spirit within me] prays, but my mind is unproductive [it bears no fruit and helps nobody].

Then what am I to do? I will pray with my spirit [by the Holy Spirit that is within me], but I will also pray [intelligently] with my mind and understanding; I will sing with my spirit [by the Holy Spirit that is within me], but I will sing [intelligently] with my mind and understanding also.                I Corinthians 14:14-15 (Amplified)

Q. Why do we have this type of worship?

God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.    John 4:24 (NASB)
